Rankings glossary
Plain definitions of the ranking terms behind RallyMouuu — from rating, MMR and Elo to the K-factor, margin of victory, ladder, round-robin and the ghost board. Each entry states exactly what the term means inside Rally's model.
- Rating
- A single number estimating a player's or team's skill, updated after every submitted game. In RallyMouuu everyone starts at 1000.
- MMR (matchmaking rating)
- The game-world name for a skill rating. RallyMouuu labels its Elo result as MMR.
- Elo
- The chess-origin formula that turns the rating gap between two sides into a win probability, then adjusts both ratings by the surprise in the result.
- K-factor
- The maximum swing of a single game before margin scaling. RallyMouuu uses K = 32.
- Expected score
- A side's pre-game win probability: E = 1 / (1 + 10^((opponent − you) / 400)). A 400-point edge means roughly a 10-to-1 favourite.
- Margin of victory
- How decisive a win was. RallyMouuu multiplies the rating change by 1 to 1.5× based on the score gap relative to total points, capped so blowouts can't dominate.
- Baseline (1000)
- The rating every new player and team begins at. Unrated players are treated as 1000 until they play.
- Ladder
- The ordered list of players or teams by rating, highest first. RallyMouuu's ladder re-sorts automatically as games are submitted.
- Round-robin
- A schedule where the group plays across a series of rounds. RallyMouuu's fair round-robin also evens playing time and caps consecutive rests.
- Even play
- The scheduler's goal of giving every player near-equal playing time across the session.
- Rest cap
- A limit on how many rounds in a row any one player sits out, so nobody is benched too long.
- Balanced / Mixed mix
- Gender-mix strategies for the rotation. Balanced spreads games across Mixed, Mens and Womens types; Mixed maximises mixed-gender games.
- Ghost board / projected move
- A draft session's results shown as each player's expected rating change before you submit. Submitting folds them into the official all-time board.
- Solo / pairs / team board
- Three separate leaderboards from the same games: individual players, partnerships, and named teams — kept per sport.
- Draft → submit
- A session stays an editable draft (swap players, re-score freely) until you submit it, at which point results become official.
