What is a ladder ranking?

A ladder ranking is an ordered list of players or teams, strongest at the top. In a rating ladder — the kind RallyMouuu uses — your position is decided purely by your Elo/MMR, so the ladder re-sorts itself automatically every time a game is submitted.

Rating ladder vs challenge ladder

Two things share the name. A challenge ladder is a physical order you climb by beating the person directly above you and swapping places. A rating ladderderives everyone’s position from a skill number, so you can climb by beating anyone — the ladder just re-computes. RallyMouuu is a rating ladder.

How RallyMouuu builds its ladder

For each sport, Rally replays every submitted game in order, updates each player’s rating, then sorts. Players with no games in that sport yet are treated as the 1000 baseline. There isn’t one ladder but several — solo, pairs and named teams each get their own — and none of them cross sports.

Where you start and how you climb

• Everyone begins at 1000.
• Beating a higher-rated opponent is worth more than beating a lower-rated one.
• A decisive scoreline counts for up to 1.5× a close one (see the Elo maths).
